Any ice fishing reports?

Recommended Posts

I have been out quite a bit this year already and have yet to catch a perch. Granted I have not been targeting them, but I think I would have picked up a few while fishing for eyes.

As for walleyes Lake Thompson has been decent. I have picked up a couple keepers nearly every time out. And that seems to be about how everyone else is doing also.

Lake Sinai has yet to turn on for me. I have been averaging one fish per outing, but the size has been better. Be careful the ice is pretty crummy ranging from 2" to 6". The bays have a solid 8".

Oak Lake did have a good afternoon bite going on it for both perch and walleyes, but I have not heard anything in the last day or two. Maybe they are still going. I have also heard they are driving out there.

Planning on fishing tomarrow evening and throughout the weekend so hopefully things will improve a bit.

Good fishin and lets hear some other reports!

People have been killing the perch in NE sd but have been keeping their mouths shut.(locals) I caught a tip this weekend and it sounds like the best bite has already came and gone. They are still biting from what I understand but they were real strong a couple weeks ago. they're there. Just have to go get them.

good luck

Not sure how the bite is, but yesterday late afternoon there were 2 shacks out on the 81 ponds north of Madison. I also noticed one shack off of Johnson's Point on Lake Madison. I'm guessing the 81 ponds will pretty busy this weekend if the weather cooperates.

You Bet JJJ....The Highway 81 ponds are on...you guessed it...Highway 81 (sorry couldn't resist) between Madison and Arlington. There is no parking on the shoulder of the highway, but there are a few flooded approaches where a guy can park, and I think you can park on the side gravel roads as well. I have seen many good sized perch and even walleye taken from these. This past summer, people had even found ways to launch their boats into a few of these "ponds".

I caught a litte breeze of a report that the 81 ponds are kicking out a few perch but nothing great. I might be out there in the morning for an hour or two, but then it's off to do Christmas shopping.

Fished Thompson last night and caught 3 keepers and a few dinks. Also had a bonus perch and crappie.

Has anyone else noticed the fish seem to hold 25yds away from stock dams? I have set up on the edges but always have to move farther away to catch fish. Any ideas, or is this just in my head?
