Jaypo
Any report on Thompson lately? Was out about 3 weeks ago and got shut out with the exception of the 10 inch rogue who impaled my lure and the 10 bullheads we caught.Looking to drag my father in law out again when I come and visit from Minneapolis and wanted to have an educated opinion on where we should wet our lines.Thanks!!J. Guest
If you are not totaly set on Thompson, Lake Sinai is putting out some decent fish. You have to work for th efew you catch, but they are mostly over 20". Most of my fish have been coming off Skinny Raps trolled behind snap wieghts in 30 feet of water. Maybe this Pattern may work on the deeper water on Thompson.
MapSD
Fished Thompson for 3 1/2 hours Sunday.Everyone else was out to enjoy the day also as the state ramp was full and over-flowing with rigs.Caught 3 Northern from about 3 to 5 lbs. and 1 bullhead.Waited 30 min. to get off the water as there was a lot of traffic at the ramp.Mike
Guest
I went fishing at Thompson today. Was fishing by 8 and ended up catching a limit of walleyes all 14 to 15 inches. Trolled plugs in 15 ft. of water south of 3 mile road. Lots of people fishing at 4 mile but I was all by myself. I was done by noon.
Guest
Eyewannabe,Did any particular plug work better than others. I think I am going to fish Thompson hard this weekend. Should be pretty quiet with most of the folks chasing pheasants.I just thought I would give a report on Sinei. From what I gather the daytime bite is non-existant. I'm sure one could scrape up a few fish if a person worked at it, but there is a decent nightime bite going. Pitching jigs to shorlines has been the ticket over the last week and a half. The key is to use larger minnows. The majority of the fish have been coming from 9:30 to 10:00pm. I will say the last few nights have not been as good as when that full moon was out. Guest
I dont think the color mattered as much as the action u give it. I was running shadraps. Fiertiger on my dead line and I was running no.7 perch. all but one hit came on the line I was holding. I found that giving the line a few jerks and then rest and then jerk a few times then rest really gets the fish to bite. most of the time they would strike right after a stopped jerking the rod. I caught one fish on the other line but I also did nothing with it. I also had luck with a storm deep diver (firetiger). Good luck this weekend. I will probable be back out Thursday morning if weather permits otherwise its hunting.
