Over lap for aluminum sheets

I am going to be screwing my aluminum sheets to my outside of my fish house. What would be a good over lap for my seams?

Use the tape, Screws are ugly and they break off.

also do you guys just butt your diamond plate pieces or do you guys overlap too.

Overlap everything.  I run the siding past the wall and onto the frame a couple inches, and then put the diamond plate over that.

The diamond plate should overlap the aluminum sheets but just butt the ends and tape under them

Correct.  I misread the question in my post.

With wood studs your going to have to seal them before using the VHB tape. FYI you can also use PL premium to glue your sheets to your studs but it is somewhat of a pain in the you know what. I overlapped mine an inch as well but made sure I had at least 2" of the sheet overlapping a stud or backing.
