What Are You Making For Fishing Opener?

Recommended Posts

I've got nine guys coming up for fishing opener again this year. Getting out on the water is usually our priority so food is generally not a high quality effort most years. I'm trying to slowly class it up this year so I'll be swapping out some of the typical frozen pizza meals. I'm going to do Carolina pulled pork sandwiches one night. One of the breakfasts will be an eggs & sausage casserole that I'll prep before the trip. I want to come up with one more easy group breakfast meal before everyone heads out on opener morning, so my goals are to have something that is either quick to prep or prepared before the trip. Minimal cleanup and dishes is plus. Since I'm already doing an egg dish, I'm holding off on something like breakfast burritos. I could quickly make a pile of flapjacks but was hoping to avoid using dishes and a lot of silverware if possible. My best thought so far is a bunch of bagels heated in the oven with a small spread of fixings. Anybody have better ideas?

We generally hit the water fairly early and off mid morning,  but one that's pretty easy to make is an everything toasted bagel. Your choice of cheese, fried egg topped with bacon or sausage.  Some other goodies can be added but it's rather simple and filling...good luck fishin.
