Dano2
My black lab caught her hide on a sharp piece of fence and ripped it open a good one, she got about 10 stitches and had to were one of those lamp shade deals for a bout 3 weeks,(I would take it off now and again for a short time, but she would try to get at the drain tubes and stitches.Question is:Could her wearing that thing have casued some kind of pyscological problems? She doesn't seem quite the same, she acts a little more dopey, and doesn't listen as well. She is a very timid dog, and I'm wondering if this has made things worse. Swamp Scooter
sometimes even if the wound has healed the hide is still attached and not pliable yet and there is still discomfort if not a little pain. Maybe bending and turning around when you call her is a little painful or stressful and she is dong her best. Also the Eliz. collar can stop them from hearing well when it is on as it acts like a funnel away from them. It is also harder to turn with it on and they bump in to things. Lots of reassurance and some simple obediance work in the house and yard with treats should bring her back around.
