Riplips33
Haven't been out fishing yet this year and was wondering if anyone new of any fish activity around the Brookings region?
rundrave
you can join the thundering herd on poinsett otherwise there are lots of other good quality lakes in the brookings area. I haven't been out much in the last couple weekends with the cold fronts and extreme cold but that should change this weekend. I did manage to get out and fish on monday but it was slow but managed some 9" gills. good luck and be safe despite the cold temps last two weeks lots of sketchy ice in areas yet btw welcome to HSO
carpshooterdeluxe
Been working over the walleye late at night fishing shallow. Moon phase had them going pretty good this week.
rundrave
Anyone have reports or been out around Brookings area lately? I know Poinsett is still putting out dink eyes and the smallie bite has been ok. I still haven’t patterned the perch. looks like lots of people on Albert lately but havent heard if they are catching much. we are camping up at Oakwood for a few days on Friday for Father’s Day weekend. Will try to hit a few different lakes in the area and hopefully figure the fish out.
rundrave
Well this weekend certainly wasn't ideal for fishing weather. Between strong winds and storms every day Friday-Sunday it made it hard to get some good quality fishing time in. Just kept getting chased off the water with thunder and lightning in the area every day and night. Never saw a lot rain but plenty of storms in the area to keep us off the water. Did manage to catch some fish regardless just nothing big enough or worth keeping. Not a keeper walleye caught and lots of skinny 8-9" perch which were all released.
