Brian Jones
Did anyone here participate in the 2003 hunt? I was wondering what their meat is like and if they were more similar to pheasant or sharpies in the field?ThanksBrian
Norsky
My Dad, Wife, and myself hunted them. We shot our limit fairly easily (I give most of the credit to my dogs). The meat is kind of dark, but tasty. The first two we did we only cooked for about 1.5 hours after browning the outside. The meat tasted good, but was tough. The last three that I cooked we put in the slow cooker for about 12 hours and they were of course very tender and tasty. The other one is at the taxidermist, I'm doing a full strutting pose with him. Brian Jones
Thanks for the info Norsky. I hope your mount turns out good!! Now if they would just explode in population like the turkeys have more of us can give it a shot down the road.------------------First Choice Guide ServiceThe Cass Lake Chainno_spam.comPhone: (612)730-no_spam
