Reconditioning some old Johnson Century reels

Guys,

i am looking at  reconditioning  some old Johnson century reels  what should I use to clean off the old grease?

Then after that what type of lube should I add back to lube them back up?

 The old grease seems to wipe away without leaving much residue but I do use WD-40 too.
Qutips help to get in places.    You can buy reel grease at most big stores in the fishing section.

  On my ice reels I use oil instead of grease.  Thought about trying synthetic grease on those.

Buy big stores do you mean cabelas, reeds?  What about the Man Mall? (Mills fleet farm)

   I'm sure they have reel grease at both locations.
