Just had a Pike idea...

Thinking when I'm up there in October fishing for Pike, slow trolling with the top water lure Devil's Horse. Any thoughts, suggestions, recommendations, experiences, good/bad, etc.?

Have caught many a pike with a Smithwick Devilhorse, those teeth sure do tear the lure up though. I would add some bigger trebles.

If you're trolling in the right location it ought to see some action. I catch a lot of big fall pike over rocks in 12 to 20 feet of water. Windblown points and reefs are the first places I check in late fall. I usually catch these fish deep but don't see why a topwater would not gather some interest. If you drag that lure over a hot fish, 2 or 3 flicks of the tail is all it would take to eat it. Good luck!
