Minnesota or Wisconsin?

If you sold your camper and were going to buy a cabin on a lake, would you rather buy in northern MN or northern WI?  

Pros and cons?

cons... Need non-resident licenses in Wi.  Roads might not be as good getting to the cabin. Don't know about property tax and various rules, like zoning. 

Pros... might be closer.  taxes and zoning might actually be more favorable. 

You need to define what you are looking for.  BWCA like?  Big Lake?  sand beach?  developed?   secluded?  

I get the impression (no research) that Wisconsin has fewer good sized lakes to choose from if that is what you want.
