Weedline Wacky Worm Bass

MN BassFisher

Recommended Posts

I took to the lake after work in hopes of stretching out some line. I hooked into a fish on my 2nd cast with a T-Rigged creature bait near heavy cover. I stuck with that pattern for a bit and put a few more smaller fish in the boat but the slime in this lake was giving me a lot of problems so I decided to back off the structure and focus on weedlines. I tried using crankbaits and a swimjig but wasn't getting bit. I tied on a weighted wacky worm and it wasn't long until they started biting. I caught around 10 bass on the same stretch of weedline, most of them were small fish but I did hook into a 2.5lber and on the very next cast one just shy of 3.5lbs which put a good bend in the spinning rod!

Thanks man! I have tried many different rods for wacky worming and they all work but I find myself always going back to the St. Croix Mojo Bass 6'8" Medium Power with an Xtra-Fast Tip. Right now I have a Shimano Sedona 2500 with 8lb Dynamic Lures Hydralux (co-polymer).
