Ol' Lund
Hey-I am going to upgrade to a digital thermostat, instead of the in accurate factory thermostat. Before I purchase one, I was curious if there is a way to start the furnace in the fish house via a smart phone and a certain thermostat? I'm really not for sure if there is, but I figured this would be a good place to ask. I just think it would be nice to be able to have the fish house warm by the time I get to the lake, if not no big deal! Thanks!
JSK76
I looked into this a few years back because it would be slick but you would need Internet or some kind of cell plan for it to work.
Ol' Lund
After looking a little more on the internet, I found something. But it includes a monthly fee, and I'm not about to pay a monthly fee for this. But it shows me that it is possible. Go ahead and take a look if youd like. Wish it could be done thru smartphone without internet access.http://www.sportalarms.com/ice-fishing-house-security-alarm/
Ol' Lund
After doing a little more research, I found something that seems like it may work in this situation. It is a GSM relay control. It activates by phone call or text message, just needs 12 volt power supply. It seems after the upfront cost of the device, I would just have to buy a prepaid SIM card so it gets a phone number to call. I don't know if I am going to do this, but just wanted to share what I have found so far.http://www.waferstar.com/en/GSM-RELAY.html
