Merc 4 stroke leaking gas

Guys,

I'm hoping the wealth of knowledge in this forum can help me out. My father-in-law has a 2003 60hp Mercury 4 stroke EFI. When he starts the motor, gas leaks out of the silver valve in the middle of the top pic below. Must be part of the fuel pump.He just had a bunch of work done on the fuel system two years ago, so he wants to make sure it's not something simple before bringing it in. Any insight would be much appreciated.

Here is the only photo that I could find in the Manual. Not the correct angle to see all the valves though.
