humminbird ice 45

I have a ice 45 humminbird. Has anyone had problems with the center depth reading going crazy on you when fishing. I was fishing in 27 ft of water when all of a sudden the center depth reading would climb up to about 55 ft and then come back down to the 27 ft. Does anyone know why it does that?

That's a good question. Every once in a while, my 45 will do that. It only lasts a second or two and then it goes back to normal so I don't think it is anything major. Hopefully someone else knows the answer.

Me and my buddy's 55 do it too. I read that someone said it's calibrating the depth but don't know if it's true.
