mrpike1973
Hi asked this before but could not find it again. how do I figure what % a motor is compared to the plate rating meaning if the boat says 50 hp and you have a 25hp motor on it your 50% of the rating. how would it work if you have 6hp motor there is a formula Just examples here but I cant find it thanks
aanderud
The math is "actual" horsepower divided by "maximum" horsepower, then take the result times 100, and that's your percentage.So in your 25 hp (50 max) example: (25 / 50) * 100 = 50%Or in your 6 hp (50 max) example: (6 / 50) * 100 = 12%Or 50 horsepower (with the same 50 max): (50 / 50) * 100 = 100%
