I usually don't head up that way this time of year. I'm going to assume most lakes are still well iced over. I drive by Tanners and Battle Creek every morning here in the metro. Generally lakes near Turtle Lake open up around the same time Tanners does. Since Tanners is about 2 weeks from ice out, there won't be much open water up there until we get another warm spell.

We will be doing some shorelanding for crappies this weekend I will update our findings.. Fun to joy ride around with family and cast a few spots we have been fishing for 25 years. Some years are great some are so so, but always a blast to enjoy the company the crappies are just a bonus.
