Iambjm
I purchased a fan that plugs into a cigarette lighter and it works great in the car but when I plug it inside the wheelhouse it blows a fuse. I even rewired and plugged it in and it still wouldn't work. I use these plugins to charge my cell phone and they work great, I am totally stymied. highlife4me
What amp fuse are you blowing? That fan probably draws 4 - 5 amps. You should probably have a 10 amp fuse for it.
Iambjm
I know this sounds crazy but I'm not sure what type of fuse it is. I found it by unscrewing the tip that plugs into there lighter plug in and the fuse he is inside the plug. I cannot read the writing on the fuse. Also each end of the fuse has a dent. BLACKJACK
I have that same fan!!! I bought an adapter that goes on that cig. plug end and changes it to red and black alligator clips, then I just hook it up to a 12 volt battery, like an old Vexilar battery. Works good. Doesn't solve your problem but works for me.
Smoker
Take it to a auto store and they will be able to help you or any place that sells fuses
Iambjm
Going to an auto store tomorrow, I will also look for the adapter plug also. I bought it a while ago at unclaimed freight, I figured it could really help move some warm air down in the wheelhouse.
Iambjm
Well I got the darn thing working, I had another cord for one of those clam style fan light combo and I had a plug in cord for that. unscrewed the end took out the fuse put it in this fan plugged it in and it works. Noisy little bugger though
