I would suggest heading to boat show and sit in both of them. It really a great way to compare different brands and models. Just have to walk around instead of drive all over town.

Really helps other half be part of choosing your new boat, assuming that approval is necessary.

Good Luck!

Good suggestion on boat show or at very least a dealer that has both brands. Width is important. You really notice it with the distance between seats more so if a console vs tiller since the seat bases tend to be next to each other.

Competitor might be a more comparable model from alumacraft than voyageur.

overall ride I dont think you would notice much difference but where you might see some differences is the side to side "rolling" a bit more with a narrower boat.

The thing is the boats these days are so much wider with much better hull designs depending what boat you had previously it is most likely a tremendous improvement.

The boat I had before the one I had now had a 78" beam. I was never afraid of taking it out when it was rough, even fished mille lacs in some giant waves, but it liked to rock side to side when the waves were coming at you from the side. My new boat has a 96" beam and I dont have that issue at all.
