Anyone hear of this? or have one istalled? I took my Gen. in for service and they asked if I had the winter kit installed. I said no, WTH is that? they explained that it jhooks up to the mother board and keeps the breather from freezing in very cold weather. 150.00 installed. just want to find some info. dont like anything hooking up to a mother board unless its ment to be nursing.lol.

I have installed one on my 2000. I had a problem with it shutting down periodically in temps below -25 when running out in the open. I could run it in the back of the pickup with the topper closed and all was ok except for the smell of exhaust. I bought it from a Honda dealer and installed it myself, instructions were included, it was quite simple. The problem has not reoccurred since.

Looks like about $60-$70 as far as I can see. Will that do anything for cold weather starting? Probably not? I haven't had any problems with running overnight in the very cold weather. Even cold weekends on Red have been fine.

When I had my Honda eu2000i I thought about adding it on. I actually had it ordered but ended up selling the 2000 before the kit came and got a 3000. The only reason I was going to get it was because mine always ran a little rougher when it got real cold.

I fixed this problem by leaving the generator in the box of my pickup with tonneau cover down and tailgate open. Seems like if you blocked the wind we never had a problem.

Hope this helps.
