I have a camshaft position sensor (bank 1) code showing now. If I recall I had this a few years ago and my mechanic just cleaned a filter and it was good to go. But I can't quite remember exactly.

I got a code reader from my wife for xmas wink but she didn't know (lightning deal from amazon). This was first time using it.

I cleared it and am going to see if it shows again. I think that is what my buddy did the other time, before it came on again and then he cleaned filter (?).

Does this seem right, or should I get it taken care of right away? Is cleaning possible for DIYer or is it relatively "non-hard" fix? Thanks for info.
