ryan.d
Hey guys I'm up at college a ways from home and my jiffy model 30 is at home not running very well. Today i came across a deal on an Eskimo mako m43 that i couldn't resist (under $280). So i decided to get the eskimo, but it is only and 8 inch. my jiffy is a 10inch with a almost brand new chipper blade, and i was wondering if i could put the jiffy auger onto the eskimo powerhead straight up.Its really not that important whether or not i can because i have access to a lathe and mill and i can make an adapter after i get home, but i just want to know now haha.I'm just wondering if you guys could help me out because i couldn't find anything on the internet, and i just can't get this out of my head.P.S. please don't tell me if you got a better deal or if there is going to be a better deal because i already bought mine. hahah and please help me figure this out so i can focus on my finals instead of the obviously more important ice fishing. Thanks everyone. candiru
They are not compatible since they turn in opposite directions. Eskimo and Strikemaster are compatable. Jiffy runs in the opposite direction.

NAMASafetyDirector
Ryan, i am on my 3rd season with my Mako 43 and have not had one issue so far. It's the best auger i have ever had and i've had a bunch of them. I think you will find you just might like the 8" hole vs. the 10". IMO I like the smaller hole for a couple reasons the main one being I have better luck with fish that get off at the top not getting turned around as fast or at all in the smaller hole. For the guys that have little people along it's a lot safer. It's a preference thing.. some people absolutely love a 10" hole but for me I won't ever have anything over a 9.
