Looking for lake recommendations

Live in Forest Lake, would like to put my house on a lake that I can be 30-40 minutes away from home. Any thoughts??

1st time house owner, want to be smart, Forest Lake is the last place I'd put my house on, know too many horror stories about break ins.

Looking for a decent walleye & crappie lake, don't expect someone too give away spots, but any thoughts lakes, would be appreciated.

Lots of good lakes around the area to put the house on, Green, Chisago, Pokegema, Cross, White bear, Rush, St. Croix river just to name a few. I am not sure why you are Forest lake averse since breakins can occur on any lake in the area.

The best advice no matter where you place your house is to take all valuables with you. I do one better and take the whole house with me!

Been broken into before both on land and on the ice, horrible feeling.

Will keep my house out at my cabin lake but only when staying there, 10 houses on it pretty safe area/lake.

In terms of lakes to put it a lot of good options as mentioned already. Rush would be my first choice...
