rattle reel line

this is my first year with a drop down house. I just got my rattle reels and am wondering what line do you guys use for them? I am thinking braided line then a mono leader? I normally fish walleye/crappies/etc. usually run 6 lb mono on my ice poles. can't wait to hear a rattle go off.

braided is a bugger lying on the floor when pulling in a nice one from deep, tangle city. I like 8 pound trilene XL. many opinions on the way.

Fly line for me

Hi-vis and no tangles. I run about a 6 foot 10lb mono leader.

Fly line was my favorite too but have changed to the plastic tip up line, not the coated nylon/Dacron stuff but the plastic stuff. It has something in it that may be nylon/Dacron but if you look at them you'll see the one I'm talking about. Much thinner which seems less visible and tangle free.
