ION ice auger??

Just a couple quick questions...

I have the first year model ION ice auger. I have probably only drilled 100 holes with it. I only use it for wheel house fishing.

1. Is it worth selling this one for a new one with reverse? The reverse has me intrigued for cleaning out holes easier.

2. If I were to sell this one, what is a good asking price for it?

I would say the reverse function is pretty helpful for clearing out your holes limiting the amount of dump you'll need to clean out. If you already use a slush bucket or other device, maybe you're used to it.

Used Ion's typically sell between $400-$450

I am really looking forward to using my new ION with reverse in the fish house. Should save a lot of time and mess cleaning out the holes.

When flushing a hole with an auger in reverse, doesn't the slush just come back in the hole if you catch a fish?

For how much you have used it, suppose you can almost think about it as....would you pay a dollar a hole extra to get the slush out; or conversely, would you want to save a buck a hole to do it manually.

I also look at it being another thing that can go wrong and short out...sometimes the simpler solution is the best long term...

If you have an electric drill then it would only take 35 holes @ $1 hole to pay for a slush copter.

I just bought the new one and sold my old one. Listed it for 450.00 and got 420.00. It was mint and had less the 50 holes on it.

Spend $50 and get a slush inhaler. Gets all the slush in one scoop. Than spend the other $$$ you woulda spent on a new auger on tackle or a new rod or adult beverages! Like the other guys said, the more fancy gadgets on it, the more likely something could break!

Slush inhalers still need the slush removed from the hose in a bucket which is a very heavy back breaker, try the slush copter. Only God knows where the slush goes because it never comes up in another hole.

Judging by the rave reviews this thing gets, I'm actually tempted to buy one of these and I don't even have a wheel house
