turning the hook pt.

i was watching a show with pete mania, and he was talking about using a single hook on some buck tails. got me to thinking if this would be a good idea on hooks for jigs and senkos. the idea was to bend the hook pts 4-6 degrees off center so if the fish clamped down on it( which i have had many bass do, and then just let go); when you did try to set the hook, the pts would bite into the fish instead of staying flat and not sticking into anything. this would not work on the small plastics like little worms and such, but i don't think it would cause any problems on lure such as lizards, senkos, or tubes. i do plan on trying it the next time out. i was just wondering ! del

They do sell single hooks that are a little off-set already. Tru-turn hooks are actually designed with a little twist so they turn to a position where the hook will grab the fish while you're pulling on it.
