JSK76
I know this gets brought up every year and I did a quick search and didn't see what I needed so I've got a few questions.I'm using 1/4"x3 9/16" boards and I have put 2 coats of water base polyurethane on each side. My fish house 4x6 and I'm planing on heating it with a non vented buddy heater and putting 2, 3" vents for letting some of the moisture out (hopefully). Since wood is never 100% dry when you get it I typically run my boards tight when using them on my home but since I'm going to be putting a lot of moisture in the house because of the heater I'm leaning towards leaving a 1/4" gap at the floor (helps with water on the floor from snow and ice melt too) and 1/8" at each end. Doesn't sound like much but remember the house is only 4x6. I'm also leaning towards using liquid nail on each stud and I will be face nailing 2 nails per board, per stud with 16 gage 1 1/2" nails. I really don't want any buckling and I don't think I will, but I have read other post where people have had an issue. Do you think those gaps are big enough? SnowGuy73
Not sure about the gaps but if you're using liquid nails one nail per stud is plenty.
randerson
I did exactly that maybe 3/16 on the ends in my deer stand 4x4 used the 5/16 stuff with liquid nails and tongue nailed everything it only gets used during the rifle season but no buckleing going on 3rd year
