Fish house battery

I have been using my deep cycle boat battery's in my fish house and I don't seem to get much out of them even though they are great in the boat. Is there a better battery then a deep cycle for the fish house??

I use an optima blue top and it works great. Is yours located such that it stays warm?

I run (2) 6 volt batteries in mine. There's a number of posts on here about the setup.

I just have two interstate batteries ran in series in mine, no problems.

I have the interstate 27 deep cycle and I just don't seem to get many hours with just lights out of them. I can run them with the 24v minkota for 10 hour or more hours, It seems I should get more hours out of just one running a few fish house lights. I will be getting led bulbs which should help and also looking into solar panels. The hauling battery's around for charging is getting old with several houses.

Cold is a major limiting factor in battery strength. Also incandescent bulbs are huge energy hogs.
