Denver Area Vacation Fishing Recommendations

I'm going to be in the Denver Area, (Littleton) starting the 16th of Sept. for a few days, and am hoping to do a little fishing while I'm there. Any recommendations for where to go within 100 miles would be appreciated. I fish with both spin and fly rods here in Minnesota in lakes, rivers and streams, and am willing to hike a few (maybe 5) miles to find a quiet spot. Any species, from Carp to Cutthroat is OK with me. I don't have any experience with dry flies, only streamers, but I'm willing to learn. I'd just like to find a nice peaceful place to wet a line.

I am sorry I didn't see this earlier. I hope you found a good spot. Waterton canyon is one of the closest trout streams, but so is Boulder creek, St. Vrain creek, Clear Creek, or Bear Creek depending on where you are in town.
