So I thought I should start a new thread being a new 5th wheel owner. So I just found out my number one destination, Noma Lake closes Sept. 3. That really surprises me. I thought all of these campgrounds would be open till at least October. To me the best vacation times are the week or two after Labor Day. The mosquitoes are getting cold by then so it is prime time for us humans. Let me know of any other good places that we can hit at this time of year. Elec is nice but anything will do.

My family loves the Gunflint Trail in October. The federal campgrounds will be half empty but I know there are a bunch of resorts with electricity still be open as well. There's a ton of stuff to see and do. My wife loves to spend some time in the shops in Town and the trail center half way up the trail serves some Outstanding dinners and I love the Malts they make.

Most state parks are open through thanksgiving. They tried shutting them down the end of October but many. many deer hunter who use the park campgrounds complained and now they're open through the general deer season. My wife and I stayed at Banning this past weekend and all the electric sites were full.
