Help with wiring on 2001 Lund Pro V 24 V trolling motor

I recently purchased a used lund boat, it is wired for a 24 V trolling motor. At the front is a plug 4 pin male, round. Wired to it are 3 wires a black, a red and an orange. My trolling motor has two wires, I wanted to get a plug for the motor end but not sure what I need to do, any advice out there? Minn kota & lund haven't been very helpful

I just went through this this spring, when I cleaned up the wiring in my boat. At the battery compartment in my boat there were wires for two batteries, a red/black pair and a orange/black with purple. These go to the 4 wire socket in the front. The plug on the trolling motor has the jumpers to make it into 24 volts by connecting appropriately.

I have mine set up with a jumper in the battery compartment so only two of the wires are live, and there is 24 volts at the socket. This saves some voltage drop. The plug has 3 wires of which I use two. When I got the Trolling Motor it came with several plugs. I chose the connections to 24 volts in the battery compartment to match the wires I used in the plug.

So if I used red and black in the plug connected to the Terova, I figured out which pins they were on the socket. Noted the colors by looking at back of socket. Made those colors be the 24 volts from the two batteries connected in series. Double checked with multimeter and was good to go.

I hope this helps.
