I have actually done this for big bedding Sunnies with a snorkle and my sons Snoopy rod! You can go right up to the bigs ones you want and they just sit there!

lol I can't believe I'm not the only one that has done this kind of thing! At my grandparents' lake as a kid, I'd throw on a mask and snorkel to find the fish, then tread water and cast to 'em. It's super clear water so it was very effective, just have to stay near the docks and platforms so that you're not encountering boat traffic.

We have a guy in our tournament league that actually goes and puts them back after the weigh in. He won 2 tournaments in the same week with most of the same fish! Why would you want fish like this though for fun? It seems almost like spearing in the spring to me, I hope you're releasing them.
