Disconnect the harness going to the rectifier. On the rectifier side of the harness, connect an ohm meter red to the red lead and black to each of green?? You should have 100-300 ohms. Connect the black to red and the red to the greens. U should NOT have continuity. If you do, the rectifier/regulator is bad

I believe you can also check the stator for output while the motor is running to verify it is good. You would need to check for AC current output between the separate sets of wires. It will be AC current because it is pre rectifier. I have checked some in the past, you would need to find the specs specific to your motor. I mainly check that they are all even. Maybe there is a better way to check it such as an ohm reading, but it works for me.

You can definitely do that as well. Ohms or output. Personally I have a high end (snap on) test light I use that gets brighter with increased rpm. Not sure what it'll do to a $6.99 light but a quick easy check
