Northcountry Guide Service is having a gathering on August 9th called "Fish. Forage. Feast." The event is open to the first 20 guests, and the cost will be $300 per person. Show up Friday night, and bring your tent. Campers will enjoy the beautiful Lake Bemidji State Park. Wake up early on Sat. and either go fishing with a guide, or mushroom hunting with myself or professional mushroom expert Mike Kempenich. A nice lunch will be provided consisting of shore lunch walleyes, camp potatoes, and mushrooms. After lunch, people swap. Whoever fished in the a.m., will forage in the p.m., and vice versa. Then, around 7:30 we'll all head to the excellent Tutto Bene where chef Justin Frederick will serve us all wonderful local bison with a plethora of mushrooms. A four course meal that can't be missed... End the night around the fire back at the State Park, and head out at your leisure on Sunday. Stay and pick a bit in the morning if the mood strikes you...
