looking for a place to tent camp and catch cats

My wife and i are looking for a nice campground to put up a tent for the weekend and fish for catfish. Size of fish doesnt matter just want to catch some. We were going to try the minnesota river but most of the parks around here are still closed from the flooding. Any advice on where to go?

There are some of the Renville County parks that are open again. Vicksburg south of Renville is partially open. It is open from the east side. You wouldn't be able to camp right where you fish but within a couple hundred yards. They are normally pretty fast to open up Vicksburg after the water goes down. If Anderson Lake park opens up that would be a good one also but it might be awhile.

Kind of forgot to mention it but Ramsey Park in Redwood Falls has a campground and you can fish the Redwood River which has held some nice fish when the river is deeper

There's a state park on the St Croix that's pretty nice. From what I heard, they have a nice campground (coworker went there a month ago). You can get channel cats up that way, for sure. They mention flooding over some of the trails a couple weeks, however, so I'm not sure what the status is as far as river conditions.

Note that a lot can change in a couple weeks' time, so anywhere I'd go, I would call and get an up to date report rather than relying on data more than a day or two old.
