Do you use a 100lb leader yes or no? Why?

Braid can be cut easily by sharp things.. teeth, in the case of muskies. It's not about breaking power, it's about being cut. I'd trust a 20lb steel leader made from quality steel more than 200lb braid.

I also like Fluorocarbon, it's pretty hard and doesn't cut the way other lines will. It'll lose chunks from it but still maintain some intregrity. If you catch a fish, inspect your fluorocarbon line for damage and replace it if needed.

Yes to keep it from breaking and for visability. I'd actually suggest 130 lb or more flourocarbon leader. Steal leader for jerkbaits, glide baits, etc. to give the bait more action. Most guys use longer leaders for trolling 2-4 feet. Stealth makes great leaders.

I just bought 3 14" 130# mono leaders on hsolist. $9.99 plus $2.20 S&H shipped to your door. Just search "muskie leaders" on hsolist. Cant beat it.

"THIS SALE IS FOR 3 OF MY HAND MADE MUSKIE 100% FLUOROCARBON LEADERS USING 130 LB TEST. THE BALL BEARING SWIVELS ARE RATED @ 150 LBS WITH WELDED RINGS, ALONG WITH THE #6 DOUBLE INSURANCE INSIDE LOCK SNAPS RATED @ 180 LB TEST. I USE THE 100% FLUOROCARBON 130 LB TEST AS THIS LINE WHICH IS VERY STRONG AND STILL LETS THE LURE "WORK" AS IT WAS DESIGNED. THE 100% FLUOROCARBON LEADER IS THE BEST AND AS IT HITS THE WATER, IT IS INVISIBLE, JUST SEEMS TO DISAPPEAR. EACH LEADER IS A MINIMUM OF 14" IN LENGTH FOR THE ANGLER THAT WANTS THEM JUST A LITTLE LONGER. I HAND MAKE EACH LEADER AND OFFER 100% MONEY BACK SATISFACTION + GUARANTEE. HIGH QUALITY AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE."

On Wisconsin opener I had one completely miss my jerkbait, and the 12" leader in front of the jerkbait. It toasted 80 lb braid like it was nothing.Luckily it was a floating jerkbait, so I got it back leader and all. Still confused how the fish missed by that much.

Only once have I broke 130-150 lb fluorocarbon: and that was because either a tooth or the tip of a hook managed to go right through the middle of it and split it in half, where it sort of peeled a bit before snapping. On the same jerkbait too, and I got back. Maybe I should stop using it.
