Bald Eagle Lake

Apparently they are close to starting the alum treatment. There is going to be a barge going up and down the lake releasing aluminum sulfate to help lock up the phosphorus and that will help clear up the water.

Once it starts you may want to avoid fishing on the lake for the next week to 10 days. I have heard that there is going to be a piece on it on channel 9 on Tuesday. There probably will be articles in the papers as well.

Obviously this is going to create some problems for the fishing opener. The process could not be started until the water reached 40 degrees and has to be completed by May 23 (maybe the 26th I can't remember exactly) and cannot be done on days with high wind. So there is a time problem and that is why it is likely to being this week.
