Mitsubishi trans oil cooler identification

Recommended Posts

2004 Mitsubishi Galant 4cyl.

Radiator hose clamp wore thru the aluminum transmision line coming from what I assume is a transmission oil cooler. It has two lines from the tranny going into it and two engine coolant lines. Problem is the parts store doesn't show one and I cant find anything on the net besides a universal trans cooler to mount in front of the radiator. Anyone out there who works on these familiar with what im talking about? could I bypass it and put one in front of the radiator? Ill try to get pics up

Thanks

well since I don't have a Mitsubishi dealer close I figured id try fixing it one more time. I ended up swaging a piece of 1/4" od copper tube to friction fit over the top of the original aluminum tube. before I pressed it on I smeared it with JB weld. I gave it a light crimp with an ignition terminal crimper then let it set up for a half day. so far no leaks with about 100 miles on it.
