Shed Hunt 2014 and nice surprise on camera.

Recommended Posts

Well shed hunting started out slow. The first two days were hot and everyone knows sheds don't move to well when it is hot. Day three however had two matched sets and another antler to match one of the first days sheds.

Found about 5 dead does and doe fawns, 3 more than normal. One dead small 1.5 year old buck.

Put out some mineral, dealt with stands. Put a ladder up to a permanent stand. Gave the niece's a hard time about everything. Good trip had by all.

You always hope you will find the sheds of your most impressive bucks. Seldom happens, so yes it is great to know he is spending alot of time on our land. My brother might have seen him two seasons ago, but other than that, he seems to be nocturnal. This years pictures in the bean field after the season are the first daytime pics of him.

Can't wait to get the cameras out again mid to late June and see who is around. Hopefully there will be 4 bucks at 4.5 or older calling our place home. Always seem to get a new mature buck to move in late fall too.
