Willow Creek Salmon and Trout Trip Report

Recommended Posts

Wednesday March 12.

Fished out from the boat ramp and towards the dam a bit with the jigging machine for kokanee in 72 feet of water. I fished Clam Drop jigs and Ant Jigs using a Jason Mitchell Meat stick for my dead stick and fished Lindy flyer, Clam Blade Spoons and Speed spoons on my jigging rod. Everything was tipped with a waxworm. This spot had kokes but I only saw 2 schools in 3 hours so I moved to the dam.

At the dam I continued to change colors and many more schools without luck. Frustrated a bit it was noon so I started chasing rainbows. The first small bay from the dam was the ticket. The rainbows wouldn't hit the drop jig so I used the Clam Speed Spoon for all of my fish. Fish came at 8' and 18'. The next cove also produced.

I then tried for kokes near the narrows without any luck and ended the day in a little bay on my way back to the boat ramp. My last fish was a small koke on the speed spoon.
