I am looking at the Lowrance Elite 4 HDI. For the price it seems to have a lot of stuff including not only the depth finder but GPS and Down Imaging. Any thoughts?

You are correct. But at my age that little screen is pretty tough to read.

It is a great unit for something portable like a canoe and they are great in the ice pack for hardwater fishing. If you are looking for a primary unit for a boat then I would look at the elite 5,which I have in the ice pack as well.
