Pherris
I was just informed by my lovely wife that I have a kitchen pass for the weekend. I am going to fish with my brother in-law he is bringing the truck and boat all he is requesting that I supply the lake choice. He will only fish for Bass both Large and Small mouth. It will most likely be my last weekend on the water until ice so if I pick a bad lake I will have to hear about it from him now until next spring at all family gatherings and it will not be pretty so if any of my FM Minnesota family can give me any ideas on where I should suggest I will be very grateful. We have fished the following together and always caught fish and all his ideas.Lake SarahPrior LakeStiegerMinnetonkaMinnewashtaHarrietWe are not limited to staying in the metro. Any advice???Thanks
Crawlerman
Orchard lake in Lakeville is an excellent LMB fishery. I usually get one 3lbs or bigger on each visit; and have hooked larger. There are also a number of smaller fish too. A lot of nice lilly pads, two big reed beds and a few sunken logs. The reeds produce well on a calm day.. otherwise the lillies have also produced well. No smallies here, and theres allways the chance of catching a Northern or over agressive Hybrid sunnie or bluegill too. I get most of my fish off live bait, however-- there is a lot of C&R fishing on this lake and the larger ones have seen their share of lures buzz pass. They're uncooperative with topwaters, even when jumping-- but that's the only other thing I've tried other than live bait.
Yaeger Guide
If you are looking for Smallies, I would look into either Mille Lacs or the combination of Green & Koronis (near Spicer / Willmar). I am not sure of the pattern on any of these lakes this time of the year, but they all hold some big-time smallies.------------------God bless,Judd YaegerYaeger Guides (Twin Cities Guides) www.totalbusinessware.com/guide.html
