Did a quick search andd didnt see a thread on this yet. I know these "lite" propane cylinders have been discussed quite a bit in the past couple seasons. Just thought I would give guys a heads up in case they weren't aware of this. A full safety recall was issued May 2013 on the Lite Cylinder tanks. A quick google search will give more info for those interested.

Yeah, it didn't end good for them, government came down hard and it didn't take them long to close the doors ( if you were on the mailing list you just about got a blow by blow between the company and the gov as this was all going down ), too bad but if you are going to build a product that carries propane, it better do that without failing.

If a person is still looking for a translucent LP tank, there is one company still making those, Ragasco, if you want to take the chance whistle

Just an FYI, the Ragasco are now being marketed under the brand Viking Cylinders in the North America.

Another "lite" option are the CoMet tanks. They come in 11.5lb tanks that are 3 layer with a steel liner.
