Aqua Vu Scout XL camera advice needed

Ok so this past weekend I bought a used Aqua Vu Scout XL off of the local c list. The unit worked when the guy showed it to me and when I took it fishing the next day it worked great for about one hour then went to a grey screen. I have narrowed the issue down to the camera by plugging a buddy's camera into my unit and having it work. Then plugging my camera into his unit and he had the same grey screen. I am clueless with these things, any idea's out there on what exactly could be wrong? Thanks in advance for any input, Cal

When you first mentioned the grey color, my immediate thought was a battery issue.

If you proved the camera doesn't work on another unit, then i would try to contact AV and see if you might be of any help.

Ok so I took the fish cover and weight off of the camera and found that the unit has been worked on before and water had / has gotten into the camera unit. The "Richard" I bought it from says it's my problem now. His advise was to dry it out and resell it. Obviously I can't do that, does anyone know of a place where I could find another camera unit? Are the camera upgrades or sies that sell just the camera's? I will try Aqua Vu tomorrow but was thinking someone may know someone with a used underwater camera from an upgrade or old unit not being used anymore.
