1st time.. guide or no guide?

I'm coming up with a few buddies end of the month for a long weekend. We have all of our own gear and typically have some success finding fish on our own but none of us have fished Devils however. Out of the 4 of us, 2 of us would like to get a guide (myself included) and the other 2 are cheap/prideful and do not want to as they are fairly confident we can find fish on our own. Obviously not as many as if we booked a guide but enough to keep us entertained.

Is anyone willing to offer some good advice?

Drill a ton of holes, look for GOOD structure, fish deep for perch. If you mark em and they wont bite, buy some coors lite.

Being in the business I will say this, a guide is on fish and using the right baits! By hiring one, your eliminating the guessing game, and have a mug better chance at a higher fish caught percentage. My 2 cents;). Good luck!

my son and I are heading up this weekend, what is considered "good" structure on Devils lake? tree's? rocks? trasition area's? anyone ever use the gps app for your phone? My H2O with the lakemaster chip doesn't have Devil's lake on it, so I am thinking of downloading the gps app from Navionics for my iphone....

Haha thanks guys! This pretty much sums up the emails me and my buddies have been trading. Two of my buddies are the coors light guys and me and my other buddy are more in line with Jarrid.
