Fishaholic2011
New ion for christmas! Love it except trying to reopen holes in my permanent shack is not going well. 3 times in the last week my auger has jammmed at the bottom of the hole, not enough power to push through and I can not pull it up either. Each time I struggled for a minute or two before the auger finally powered through. Any thoughts or ideas. Battery was fully charged and warm. Bureaucrat
Is your angle straight when you're drilling? One thing I had to keep an eye on was angle when drilling in the house.

Surface Tension
Yeap, depending on what degree the hole has froze over you have to control the feed by lifting up and in most cases ease it in when getting to the bottom.
breezypointerik
Have an Ion too....and it's the only downside to it. If you are reopening holes outside where it has closed up substantially, not a problem. Cuts like butter. When your in the house you just need to hold it up and slowly drill the hole out. Keep the speed up and just don't let it pull. Even then sometimes it will jump and get stuck. I'm getting better at it.
