I am going to be pretty close to the Bog in two weeks and decided that since I am that close I will definatly make a trek. Having never been there before, what types of things should I be on the look out for?

It is always good in the winter. Go to their HSOforum and download the maps and keep a copy with you . It is a good driving tour and many times you will see wildlife from the car. They have established feeders where you can stop and view a variety of birds marked on the maps. Some of the birds you might see are: Boreal Chickadee, Great Grey Owl (dusk & dawn), Hawk Owl, Pine Grosbeaks, Evening Grosbeaks, Shrikes, Jays, Magpies, and a variety of woodpeckers. The maps are marked with locations where various birds are commonly seen.

Thanks for the Reply Sturg. Ive been to their HSOforum and found the maps earlier, I haven't printed them out yet. May take to work so I can print them a bit larger. My Brother is the Arrowhead 135 Ultra race leaving I-Falls and ending in Tower about 75 miles from the Bog, so I took an extra day to explore. smile
