what do you guys use to clean these filters and what kind of oil do you put back on them?

You need to buy the K&N cleaning kit. It includes the cleaner and the spray oil. Don't use anything other than their own products, because it can ruin the filter.

I've heard some stories from people who did not, and wasted a lot of money in the end.
