Updating Garmin 62s Micro SD Lake Map

Has anyone done this?

I've got the North Central map for fishing. I think I figured out how to do it. I got to a place where Garmin told me there were no updates available for my map chip.

I also downloaded the most recent update for the GPS. I was hoping I would get more detailed contours for my lakes. The ones I'm fishing now only show about every 4 feet, instead of every foot like I've seen on other devices.

Is that lake map specific? Or did I buy a dud?

When you say North Central do you mean the Upper Midwest Fishing Guide?

From what I know, there are no updates to the MicroSD Card, it's the same as it was when it came out in 2011

When you update the software in the handheld, it only updates the devices operating software ( menu's, features, patches and fix's ) in the handheld and any base maps that were factory installed when you got it.
