Well I am trying to put together a trip for Presidents day weekend. Going to have two rookies going with me. Probablly be 4 maybe 5 of us. Looking at either Lake of the Woods or Red. I did fish red over Christmas and did pretty decent but it was a slow bight as well. Just wondering what the groups thoughts are on the choices. Wondering if we will be in the middle of the midwinter blues. Just really want to get these guys into the fish(girlfriends brother and son). I would appreciate any help or ideas. Also going out of which resort

Thanks

Jake

LOW will likely provide more overall action. IMO. Walleye, sauger, sumo perch, pike and tullibee are all readily had out there. We have made annual trips around that time and usually done well. The fishing out there this year has been much better than last year. Clearer water this year helps.

We have stayed at the resorts but always used portables. There are tons of great places though with either day houses or sleepers. Long point resort, arnesons (very nice accommodations) and a plethora in the Baudette area. If you go to the low forum there are listings there.

I'm not taking away from red because I know the bite has been good there but I think that normally starts to die down more so than low.
