Plywood thickness for bunk

I have seen it both ways and when I did mine I framed it and went with 3/8 plywood , and when we did my buddies shack we used 3/4 plywood and no frame. hard to saw which was better or even which was cheaper at the time.

I know if I were going to build them to fold up it would be with 3/4 and chain it to the wall with a 2x3 on the back wall for it to sit on for support.

Guess mine is overbuilt smile I used 2x3 frame and 1/2" plywood... Mine is only supported on the two ends though and it's 32" wide.

That was my original plan, then I looked at some builds and it appears that some people got by with less.
