Plywood thickness for bunk

I have a 6 1/2' wheel house and will have one bunk, 2x4 bracing on the walls on 3 sides, and the bunk will be 2' wide. Are you guys framing the bunks out or just using thicker plywood or what?

I have seen it both ways and when I did mine I framed it and went with 3/8 plywood , and when we did my buddies shack we used 3/4 plywood and no frame. hard to saw which was better or even which was cheaper at the time.

I know if I were going to build them to fold up it would be with 3/4 and chain it to the wall with a 2x3 on the back wall for it to sit on for support.

see if you can find an old wooden interior door. they work perfect

Guess mine is overbuilt I used 2x3 frame and 1/2" plywood... Mine is only supported on the two ends though and it's 32" wide.

That was my original plan, then I looked at some builds and it appears that some people got by with less.

I used either 1/4" or 3/8" for my top bunks with 2x3 framing.

For the bottom bunks/benches, I use 3/4" with no framing, just the cabinets for support.
